Squarespace Blog Example: Wedding Planning & Events
Website: Spera special events
Designer: Tiffany Davidson
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
I mean… let’s first take a moment for that banner image… that banner image (goes gooey eyed)… If ever there was an example of evoking emotion from a photo this is it - I can hear the tuba from here! But there’s more going on in this Squarespace blog example than just the visuals.
Firstly - they’ve absolutely nailed the blog topics - things like “New Orleans Wedding Venues”, “How much does a luxury New Orleans Wedding Cost”… are SEO keyword gold (just imagine that newly engaged couple searching these things on google & rocking up on this site ready to spend $$$ on a fabulous wedding planner!)
Secondly, the images that go with each title are bang on point making them all super clickable & intrguing.
And thirdly, and oft-forgotten, they’ve added a call to action at the bottom a “Book a consultation”, which is exactly what they want visitors to do!
Lovely example of a simple, yet super effective Squarespace blog to kick us off with.
Squarespace Blog Example: Food Blog
Website: The Culinary Edge
Designer: NK
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
Following on from example one their banner image is good enough to eat (see what I did there?!) I’m also crazy about that cool diagonal edge that just gives it a lil’ more of an innovative feel (perfect for the brand, and a good example of a strong brand being infused through a site even subtly).
The other thing I particularly want to call out about this Squarespace blog example is the great use of categories to filter posts by. You can click on these to look at posts in a certain niche or topic, and also see these categories written just below each post too - a great way to help visitors effectively navigate through the blog.
Squarespace Blog Example: Design & Aesthetics
Website: Tembo Tones
Designer: NK
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
I love everything about this site - it’s just gorgeous (as you’d hope from a business all about aesthetics & design). The blog has this lovely editorial feel, and captures the elevated, beautiful & striking feel of the site & brand. Although there isn’t any search or call to action functionality, the clean design & image selection is just gorgeous (the blog excerpts are also a lovely way for people to get a sense of what’s to come).
Squarespace Blog Example: Translator & French Living Expert
Website: French Wordsmith
Designer: Rising Tide Creatives
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
This Squarespace blog is a fabulous example (even if I do say so myself!) of thoughtfully curated blog articles that link really well to the services and products offered by the business. The images that are clearly France pick out the red, blue & grey in the branding and the search category (the brilliant universal filter by Square Websites) is the perfect fit for a help-article style blog where people are looking for something in particular.
The newsletter sign up block at the bottom of the page is also super well placed & aims to help the blog build French Wordsmith’s email list - a key objective for the blog!
Squarespace Blog Example: Dietitian & Nutrition Website
Website: Alix Turoff
Designer: Hello Magic Studio
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
I’m obsessed with this Website - Sinead and team did the most beautiful job of it, and the blog is no exception. Covering my pretty much all of my fave blog highlights
A fabulous banner image (which gets extra points for being right in the colour palette)
A search & category functionality to allow easy searchability for visitors
A quick blurb explaining what the blog is about
And rockin’ visuals - the post thumbnails and that gorgeous section divider which is just perfect, and makes this blog feel perfectly on brand.
Squarespace Blog Example: Holistic Health Website
Website: eNourish
Designer: GoLive
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
The eNourish blog is a gorgeous example of thoughtful, soulful design ghat infuses the blog as much as it does the rest of the site.
The part I love most about this Squarespace blog example is the images at the top that when clicked filter the blog by that category, something that works perfectly for a blog that has a clear set of separate categories. The arch shapes also align really well with the style & brand of the site.
Squarespace Blog Example: Coaching & Support Website
Website: Grown Girl Divorce
Designer: Launch the Damn Thing
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
Katelyn from Launch the Damn thing has nailed everything an example of a great Squarespace blog should have!
She’s bang on brand with the color overlay on the image, and I absolutely love the “recent” section with the lovely accent handwriting - perfect for returning visitors who want to be able to see at a glance what’s new on the blog.
There’s also some lovely styling of the filters & search functionality (fabulous for a large blog) and the read more links have had a lovely little CSS jazz-up too, to make them look like buttons.
Finally there’s a clear call to action at the bottom of the posts for anyone that scrolls to the end of the page.
Squarespace Blog Example: Online Course Website
Website: Reframe Parenting
Designer: Rising Tide Creatives
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
This clean and colorful blog for Reframe parenting brought is a great example of using blog post thumbnail designs to create a cohesive and on brand collection of images for your blog posts. Along with a short but sweet blurb to let people know they’re in the right place, the search and filter functionality (our friends at Square Websites with their universal filter once again!) makes it easy for parents to find what they’re looking for.
At the bottom of the page (and in many of the posts themselves) using a lead magnet of a free guide helps Scotti of Refreame parenting to build her email list (one of the key priorities for any online course creator!)
Squarespace Blog Example: Photography Website
Website: Morgan Siggard
Designer: NK
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
The simplicity of this blog by photographer Morgan Siggard is a beautiful example of how Squarespace blogs don’t need to be complicated or fussy. Given Morgan’s a photographer, she lets the images do the talking, and has kept everything else to a minimum. This approach might not work so well on a more search focussed blog, but for a photography site using their blog to show off their work, it’s a great example!
Squarespace Blog Example: Wedding Photography Website
Website: Joanna Fisher
Designer: Freya Rose Tanner
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
This is a lovely example of a Squarespace wedding photography blog - although I’m not usually a fan of calling blogs anything other than “blog”, given that these posts are essentially a beautiful collection of wedding events captured, it works really well in this setting. The gorgeous hover and animation effect when you place your cursor over each image makes the title easy to read and makes it clear to the viewer that it’s clickable.
The images for the blog post thumbnails have also been carefully chosen to work together visually creating a really cohesive looking page. Gorgeous!
Squarespace Blog Example: Concept Travel
Website: Roov
Designer: Bess Anderson
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
The clever use of CSS by designer Bess gives some beautifully unexpected features on this unique Squarespace blog layout. She’s used a split/ sticky layout to have a modern take on a side bar that sticks whilst you scroll through the articles, and used tabs that allow you to reveal different information in the header (the banner image is perfectly selected too!)
Looking to uplevel your CSS skills to create beautiful work like this? I highly recommend Standout Squarespace* by Rache at Squarestylist (Bess is a fellow course student!)
I also highly recommend checking out Rache’s awesome free Square One CSS Introductory workshop* where she walks you through how to create your own stylish homepage using CSS (it seriously rocks!)
Squarespace Blog Example: Real Estate Website
Website: Offer Heroes
Designer: Rising Tide Creatives
What I love about this Squarespace blog example
Squarespace blog examples don’t need to be fussy or feminine (although I do also love the whimsical romantic style) and can be more minimalist & clean in feel.
This blog on the website of Offer Heroes is a growing repository of free help and support articles, once again searchable using a simple application of the Universal Filter plug in, and a very simple paired back hero section that uses the same image styling as is found throughout the rest of the website. Simple, but effective & driving traffic from their target audience to their site.
So there you have it - some fabulous, and hugely different Squarespace blog examples to whet your appetite & give you some ideas to start, or improve your Squarespace blog!
