Youtube Channel for Web designers #2 (Great for DIYers) - Flux Academy
Flux Academy is a BIG name in the web design Youtube world!
A channel run by Ran Segall, a freelance designer and UX/UI consultant - he covers sooo many topics, mostly in tutorial/ how to style so it’s great if you’re grappling with a certain issue.
Ran's teaching style is engaging and approachable, and he often shares his own experiences and insights. Flux is a fantastic resource for web designers and it’s also a fab DIYer resource as the videos are super clear & easy to follow. They also have a bunch of case studies which I always enjoy watching to have a different take on the same info!!
Oh and they’ve being going in recently on videos about AI and design (like this one!) so if you’re intrigued by the topic it’s totes worth a watch!!
This is one of my fave vids of theirs… super interesting take on the most important lessons from a GD degree!!
Youtube Channel for Web designers #3 (Great for becoming a web designer) - Paige Brunton
Paige Brunton is a channel run by Paige Brunton, a Squarespace expert and web designer who offers some of the biggest courses in the niche, both on how to build Squarespace sites, but also on how to start a business as a webdesigner (see my review of her course Square Secrets Business™ here)…
The channel offers a variety of videos on Squarespace design, client management, and web design business BTS as well as some really fun videos showing a peek into her life as an online business owner & course creator.
Paige's teaching style is friendly, informative and honest, and she often shares her design and business processes in a “steal ‘em and use ‘em” kinda way.
Here’s one of my fave recent videos she put out on timesaving hacks for Squarespace!
Youtube Channel for Web designers #4 (Great for Squarespacers) - Squarespace
Squarespace is a channel run by Squarespace (my fave website building platform for small businesses)!
The channel offers a variety of video tutorials on squarespace (shock!). Squarespace is a fantastic resource for web designers who use the platform or want to learn how to use it. It’s also the bomb for those just starting out as DIYers or designing their first Squarespace site. And a great resource for designers to use with clients (you no longer necessarily have to create all the how-to videos for them, but you can draw a lot of them from here first!!)
The videos cover a range of topics, from web design basics to creating an online store, to SEO, and as you’d expect from Squarespace - they’re well produced & easy to follow.
Here’s an example about claiming your domain!
Youtube Channel for Web designers #5 (Great for before & afters & reviews) - Wes McDowell
I’m a mega fan of Wes McDowell’s channel for his website redesign episodes where he takes a site and redoes it showing how & why he made certain decisions.
Working on my own as a web designer, I find getting the thought process of other designers laid out for me helps me to see things differently & I particularly enjoy these videos of Wes’s!
Here’s an example!
Youtube Channel for Web designers #6 (Great for Brand Strategy) - The Future
The Futur is a channel run by Chris Do, an Emmy award-winning designer and educator.
The channel offers a variety of videos on marketing, design, business, and creativity - and dives more deeply into brand strategy than some of the other channels I’m talking about.
The Futur is a fantastic resource for web designers who want to deepen their understanding of branding (not just the visual element but the foundations behind it), and also to stretch and challenge their creativity!
I’ve also enjoyed their videos about Youtube - like the one below!
(Thinking of starting a Youtube channel for your web design biz - read this first!)
Youtube Channel for Web designers #7 (Great for Adobe beginners) - Yes I’m a Designer
Yes I'm a Designer is a channel run by Martin Perhiniak, a graphic designer and Adobe Certified Instructor. The channel offers a variety of videos on design & learning design skills, Adobe software, and creativity.
Martin's channel is well produced and he often shares his own design projects and challenges - the BTS style that I particularly love. Yes I'm a Designer is a fantastic resource for web designers who want to learn how to use Adobe software to support and improve their design skills and get more into design theory too (like the video below on negative space) - especially cool if like me you didn’t got to design school!
Youtube Channel for Web designers #8 (Great for CSS Tips) - Inside the Square
My go-to channel for Squarespace code is Inside the Square!
If it exists - Becca from Inside the Square has made a video on it!
Seriously, I feel like she should have run out of tutorials 10x, and still she keeps churning out awesome helpful tutorials that show you how to use code to uplevel your squarespace website! She also has videos on Squarespace basics too.
From hover effects, to countdown timers and fun things with text - there’s so much in there. Becca is also super sweet & fun so it’s easy & enjoyable to follow along (even if you hate code!) I’ve also got a few of Becca’s snippets & plugins featured in my list of fave Free Squarespace plugins. Here’s a great overview video to start with if you’re new to CSS in Squarespace!
Youtube Channel for Web designers #9 (Great for illustration & typography) - Every Tuesday
Every Tuesday is a channel run by Teela Cunningham, a graphic designer and lettering artist. The channel offers a variety of videos on design, lettering, and life as a designer.
Teela's teaching style is approachable and fun, and she often shares her own lettering and design projects. Every Tuesday is a fantastic resource for web designers who want to learn how to incorporate hand-lettering and illustration into their designs. It’s less web design & more illustration & technical brand design - but that’s a great complimentary skill to web design, hence popping her in here!
Her work is just gorgeous too - you can see it in this video using procreate to create Gouache style flower illustrations!

Katelyn Dekle of Launch the Damn Thing has recently started a Youtube channel & I’m loving it so far! Katelyn has a warm, funny, no BS style - she’s always laughing which I love, and she has super smart topic selection covering things I haven’t seen so many other designers covering - its definitely one to watch!!
